  • A cost update is made by the vendor and by the site.
  • Pack Size, Count Unit, and Recipe Unit definitions can be viewed when making cost updates in the update grid.

Inventory Cost Updates:

To enter an Inventory Cost Update, navigate to Inventory>Maintenance>Cost Updates.  Upon selection, a screen similar to the one below will display:

Criteria Tab: Select the Site, the Date, and the Vendor that you are entering the Cost Update. These are all required fields.

Site: Use the drop-down to select a  site. This is a required field.

Effective Date: Use the drop-down to select the date that you want the Cost Update to be effective. This is a required field.

Vendor: Use the drop-down to select a vendor.  This is a required field.

Next or Close: The next button will advance you to the Entry tab. The close button will close this transaction.

Entry Tab: The entry tab is where you will enter new information. Select the next button from the criteria tab or click on the entry tab and a screen like the below will display:

The New Pack Cost on this screen is the only editable field. The other fields are informational. Enter any new or changed costs next to the Item it applies to. Make sure that the new pack cost is representative of the Pack Size description in the column next to it. If the pack size for an item is incorrect then it can be changed in the Inventory Items Setup feature.

Each column in the above display has a search function that enables you to search within that field. For example, if you wanted a specific Item name from this vendor, you could type it in the Item Name search at the top of the Item Name column.

If you make an update then select Save when completed. Select Exit to exit.

Save and Exit:

Click the Save key if you add or edit packaging for an Item and wish to save it. Otherwise, click the Exit key to exit.
