Par Level Types Setup

Overview:

Par Level Types and Par Levels can be assigned to Inventory Items and combined items. Par Levels can be used for ordering, transfer, and production worksheet and entry features in COGS-Well.

A Par level can be compared to the quantity on-hand to calculate a suggested order, transfer, or production quantity.  It makes sense to create Multiple Par Level Types if you want to assign multiple Par Levels to a single Item (an example is a low volume versus a high volume or Monday versus Friday).

Things to know!

  • This feature will only be accessible and visible to users who are given access to it.
  • Par Level Types and Par Levels will only show up as an Inventory Setup feature if Ordering or Transfers are enabled in your Company Settings.
  • Par Levels for an Item can be compared to the on-hand quantity of that Item to calculate a suggested order or transfer quantity.
  • An Item can have multiple Par Level Types (an example is a different low volume versus high volume par levels).
  • Even if you just use one Par Level, you still need to define at least one Par Level Type.

Add or Edit Par Level Types:

Par Level types enable you to assign multiple Par Levels to a single Inventory Item. Examples of a reason to do this are because you desire to stock different quantities of an Item in your inventory based on anticipated volume, unique events, or different times of the year. Even if you only use one Par Level, you still need to define at least one Par Level Type.

To add, review, edit or delete Par Level Types, navigate to Inventory>Setup>Par Level Types. Upon selection, a screen similar to the one below will display a listing of all of your Par Level Types.

The Add button at the top middle of the Find Grid is used to add a new Par Level Type that has not already been set up in your database. Clicking on this button will take you to the add Par Level Type criteria display.

View/Edit: To view or edit an existing Type, click the "Edit" key in the row of the Type name you wish to edit. To delete a Type, click the "Delete" key in the row of the Type name that you wish to delete.

Some columns in the above display have a search function that enables you to search within that column. A global search option is at the top of the display. If you select to add, view, or edit a Par Level Type, a screen like the below will display:

Sites Tab:

Please note that this Site assignment tab does not display if you are logged into the system as a Site User.  If you add or edit Par Level Types as a Site User, it will only apply to your Site. System Administrators or other "above-store" Users can apply Par Level Types to multiple Sites. If the Sites tab is selected a screen similar to below will display:

Available and Selected: Listed under the Available column are all the Sites that are available to be assigned to this Par Level Type, but have not been assigned. Listed under the Selected column are all the Sites that have been assigned to this Type. To move a Site from one selection to another, check the box by the Site or Sites you want to move and then hit the arrow direction < or > that you want to move them to.

Save, Delete and Exit

At the bottom of the Par Level tab are Save, Delete, and Exit buttons.

Save - Saves the entry or entries without exiting.

Delete - Deletes the Item. You will be asked, "are you sure"?

Exit -  Exits without saving any new entries or edits
