Financial Features - FAQs

Overview:

COGS-Well's Financial features interface with your POS system to provide reporting on your POS financial totals ((sales, payment, taxes, comps, discounts,  and statistical totals). These POS financial totals can also be mapped to your accounting system's chart of accounts to provide GL (General Ledger) posting reports and an option to post (export) the values in credit and debit balance directly to your GL.

Things to Know:

  • The Financial features require a COGS-Well product called "POS+".  POS+ can run as a standalone product, or in combination with the COGS inventory products.
  • COGS-Well support will typically do the initial setup, mapping, and other system integration that is required for Financial Features for you (based on your requirements).
  • COGS-Well support needs to set up a POS import for your financial totals (even if you are already importing the sales mix from your POS system).
  • If COGS-Well is not already integrated with your accounting system, then COGS-Well support will set up an integration.

Additional Information:

COGS-Well support will do your initial setup for your POS import, mapping, financial reporting, and general ledger posting for you. These configurations are done via the POS Financial Mapping function that is accessed via Tools>Mapping>Financial Mapping.

COGS-Well will require guidance from a resource(s) from your business to set up your GL (General Ledger) account map. The GL account map is what configures the GL posting reports which are accessed via Financial>Reports.  This same GL account map configures the positing (export) directly to your general ledger.

Changes to the POS Financial maps or GL posting map are normally not common, but if you need assistance then please contact COGS-Well support.
