View Controller Tasks

Overview:

Controller Tasks are Integrations to other systems and are scheduled to occur automatically. Integrations are interfaces with your other systems such as Accounting, Vendor Invoices, or POS systems. View Controller Tasks enable you to view and audit Integration tasks that have already run and monitor their success or failure. This feature allows you to view the Tasks that have been configured in your system. COGS-Well support normally sets up all of your Controller Tasks for you.

Things to know!

  • Only users that have been given access to this feature will be able to see or use this function.
  • The Integrations that Controller Tasks launch are initially set up by the COGS-Well support team.
  • This function allows you to view or audit Controller Tasks that have already been launched.
  • Controller Tasks can be set up to occur every day on an automated basis via Controller Actions, or to occur only when launched via On-Demand Tasks.

View Controller Tasks

To view Controller Tasks navigate to Tools>Collection>View Controller Tasks.  When you select this function you will see a screen similar to the below:

Begin Date: Enter the starting date for the date range you would like to view the Controller Task activity.

End Date: Enter the ending date for the date range you would like to view Controller Task activity.

Business Unit: This field will only display if you have set up Business Units in Company Setup.  Select the Business Unit you desire from the drop-down selection.

Task Type: Click the drop-down to provide a list of Tasks Types to include.  All Tasks that have been set up in your system will be included in the drop-down list.

Site: Click the drop-down to provide a list of sites to include in your view. No selection will display all Sites.

Include Succeeded Tasks: Check the box if you only want to see Integration Tasks that were successful.  The reason not to include is if you are only looking for failed tasks.

Include Failed Tasks: Check the box if you want to see Integration Tasks that failed.

Display Tasks, Close, Refresh:

Display Task: After you have made your selections in the fields above, click on Display Tasks to view all the Tasks that meet your selection criteria.  An example of the display screen is below:

The above display is providing the task type, the site name, the date the task ran, when it started, when it completed, if it failed, and a message on the level of activity.

Close: Close will exit.

Refresh: Refresh will run an internal routine to recheck the database for Controller Task activity.
