  • The jump is available for all ingredient types (inventory items, combined items, and other recipe items).
  • When you save or exit from the ingredient detail, you are returned to the recipe item ingredient display you started in.
  • Any modification to an ingredient will be reflected when you are returned to the original recipe item.
  • This new feature will make recipe creation and maintenance faster and easier.

Recipe Item Tab - Ingredient Jump Button:

COGS-Well allows inventory items, combined items, or other recipe items to be used as ingredients in a recipe item. It is common when viewing the ingredients in a recipe item, to want to view more detail about that ingredient. Until now, that would require leaving the recipe ingredients tab you are viewing, opening the setup feature for the type of ingredient you want to view, selecting that ingredient, and then exiting from the ingredient detail when finished. The "Ingredient Jump Button" eliminates all these steps and makes accessing ingredient detail easy. Please see the examples below:

In the above example, we are viewing the recipe item ingredients tab for a Breakfast Burrito. The new ingredient detail jump buttons are next to each ingredient and are highlighted in the red rectangle above. Please notice that this button is available for every ingredient and for any type of ingredient (inventory item, combined item, or a recipe item).  To go to the detail for any ingredient, click on the jump button next to that item.

Inventory Item Ingredient: In the below example, we have clicked the jump button next to Tortilla Flour 10" (an inventory item):

The jump button for an inventory item ingredient lands on the first tab of that inventory item as shown above. Please note that at the lower right of this display, there is a reminder that you have jumped to this ingredient from the Breakfast Burrito recipe item. You can use all of the normal options from this display to view or modify information. When you are done, you can click on the save or exit button and you will be returned to the Breakfast Burrito ingredient display. If you made a change to the ingredient that impacts the original recipe, it will be shown or be available when you return.

Combined Item Ingredients: In the below example, we have clicked the jump button next to Eggs (a combined item):

The jump button for a combined item ingredient lands on the first tab of that combined item as shown above.

Recipe Item Ingredients: In the below example, we have clicked the jump button next to Salsa Prep (a recipe item):

The jump button for a recipe item ingredient lands on the first tab of that recipe item as shown above.

Summary:

We believe the Ingredient Jump Button will make recipe maintenance much faster and easier for customers that have already created all of their recipe items as well as for customers who are just starting on creating their recipe items in COGS-Well.
