Release Notes - Release 23.09.01

Overview:

Release 23.09.01 will go live the week of September 4th, 2023. Below is a bullet list of the updates and new features in this new release. The update to the Inventory Count Entry feature will impact end-users who enter or review counts so please be sure to check the below review of this update.

  • Changes have been made to the Inventory Count Entry Save and Exit Buttons.
  • A new popup button for mapped POS sales items.
  • Add the ability to enter and flag an Inventory Count to be used for ordering only.

Inventory Count Entry Update:

The purpose and functionality of the original "Save", "Save & Exit", and "Exit" buttons at the bottom of the inventory count entry grid have confused some Users. We have, therefore, changed the button names to be more intuitive and we have also added a confirmation message. Please see the example below:

Save: The Save button will save the counts you have entered. The counts are saved to a temporary table in the database and will not process to the table in the database that is used for reporting. This button should be used if you want to save your counts as you go, or if you need to save a count entry that you have not yet fully completed.

Save and Process Counts: The Save and Process Counts button will both save and process the counts that have been entered into the reporting database. Processing takes longer than saving because valuation calculations need to be performed.

Users should know that reports such as an Inventory Extension Report will not show an updated valuation until a new count has been processed.

When the Save and Process Counts button is selected, Users will see a message their count is being processed. When the process is completed, they will see the message below:

Exit: If you Save before you Exit, and don't make any subsequent changes or additions, the Exit Button will exit back to the count entry grid. If you have any entries that have not been saved then you will be prompted whether you want to save the changes.

Don't Close your Browser Before Exiting a Count Entry: Please note that a User should never close their browser until after they have exited the count entry screen.

New Popup for Mapped POS Sales Items:

Popups: There are new Popups to view what POS Item a Sales Item in COGS-Well is Mapped to. The Popups are on the Recipe Item Setup screen and the Mass Edit Recipe Items Grid. Below is an example of the Recipe Setup Screen:

Show Mapped POS Sales Item: If you click on the Popup it will show the mapped POS item code, item name, and the COGS-Well POS Sales Item Map that is being utilized.

Mass Edit Recipe Items Popup: The Popup on the Mass Edit Recipe Items feature is at the bottom of the grid. Select a sales item and the button will be available. An example is below:

Inventory Count for Ordering Only:

You can now enter an inventory count to use specifically for ordering, that will not be confused with a valuation or other count that is entered for the same date. The first step is to set up a new Inventory Group for the items that you will be ordering:

When you enter a new order, a count entered for items in an ordering count-only group will be used for the inventory on-hand calculation.
