Custom Exports

Overview:

Custom exports are used to provide transactional data exports (extensions, sales mix, transfers, theoretical costs, variances, etc.), in a CSV format, to provide data for use by another system. The Custom Export feature is used to launch a Custom Export:

Things to Know:

  • A Custom Export is launched manually via this feature.
  • A Custom Export Template needs to be set up before a Custom Export can be launched.
  • COGS-Well Support is happy to help you configure a Custom Export Template. Please contact us at support@cogs-well.com.

Launch A Custom Export:

Navigate to Tools>Custom Exports>Custom Exports. Upon selection, you will be asked to use the drop-down to select a Custom Export Template. In the example below, we have clicked on the custom export template drop-down to search and select a template:

Custom Exports Parameters:

For the below example, we selected the Inventory Extension Data template and then we clicked on the blue Export button. This takes us to a display to enter the Custom Export Parameters:

The parameter fields displayed above can be used to further define (or refine) the data that is exported. Accessing Custom Export Data. These parameters are similar to the ones used when running an Inventory Extension report. Click the blue Export button when the parameters are completed to export the data.

Custom Export Data:

A Custom Export will export an Excel Spreadsheet to your Downloads Folder. You will first see a message the export is calculating. Next, you should see a notification that a file has been sent to your downloads folder. The file name will be the name of the Custom Export Template and there will be a current date stamp:

To view the report in Excel you can either select if from the download notification or you can navigate to your Downloads folder and select it there.
