Theoretical Cost of Sales Comparison Report
Overview:
The Theoretical Cost of Sales Comparison Report enables you to compare the Theoretical Cost of Sales for two Sites (or Site Groups), or one Site (or Site Group), for two date ranges. the differences are calculated and included in the report. An example of the report is shown below:
Things to know!
- This report compares the theoretical cost of sales between 2 Sites (or Site Groups), or between two date ranges for a single Site (or Site Group).
- This report will only be accessible and visible to users who are given access to this report function.
- A POS interface is required to capture the sales used in this report.
- This report runs for a selected date range.
- Site Groups and Sales Types are optional filters in the parameters for this report if they have been set up in your system.
Report Parameters
To run a Theoretical Cost of Sales Comparison Report, use the Sidebar to navigate to the Cost of Sales Reports menu option and then select this report from the submenu. Upon selection, a Report Parameters screen like the one below will display. Please note that filters for Site Group and Sales Type will also appear on the parameters if they have been set up in your system:
This report can be used to compare one Site (or Site Group) to another, or two date ranges for a Site (or all Sites consolidated). The report can be run for selected date ranges.
Site 1: You can use the drop-down to select a specific site. If you do not select a specific site then all sites will be consolidated in the report. This selection will appear in the first column of the report.
Begin Date 1: From the drop-down calendar, select a starting date for the first column information.
End Date 1: From the drop-down calendar, select an ending date for the first column information.
Site 2: You can use the drop-down to select a specific site. If you do not select a specific site then all sites will be consolidated in the report. This selection will appear in the second column of the report and it will be compared to the first column information.
Begin Date 2: From the drop-down calendar, select a starting date for the second column information.
End Date 2: From the drop-down calendar, select an ending date for the first column information.
Price Type: You can use the drop-down to select the average, retail, or model price for menu items on this report.
Detail or Summary: Detail will include all Sales Items with sub-totals for Categories and Departments. The Summary will show Category and Department totals only.
Recipe Department: You can select a specific Department for the report.
Recipe Category: You can select a specific Category for the report.
Recipe Group: You can select a specific Group for the report.
Theoretical Cost Method: You can run the report using Effective Cost or Weighted Average Cost. This article on Cost Methods provides more detail.
Run Report: Once you have selected your report parameters, click the Run Report button to list the report.
Theoretical Cost of Sales Comparison Report:
Compare Date Ranges: Selecting to Run the Report to compare one Site (or all Sites Consolidated) for two different date ranges, in Detail, is shown below. The same Site selection is made for Site 1 and Site 2 in this example. The date range for the Site 1 selection is different than Site 2 (January versus February in this example):
Compare Sites: Selecting to Run the Report to compare one Site (or a Site Group), to another Site (or Site Group), for the same date ranges, in Detail, is shown below. For this example, different Sites are selected for Site 1 and Site 2, and the date ranges for each site are the same.
