Item Theoretical Usage Report

Overview:

The Item Theoretical Usage Report calculates and lists the theoretical usage for a single item, for a selected date range, based on the number of Sales Items sold. Sales Item counts are imported from your Point of Sale system. 

Things to know!

  • This report will only be accessible and visible to users who are given access to this report function. 
  • The Item Theoretical Sales Usage Report will calculate and list theoretical Item usage based on Sales Item Counts.
  • Theoretical inventory usage is the amount of inventory that should have been used based on recipes.
  • The Item Theoretical Sales Usage Report will list Inventory Items and Combined Items. 

Report Parameters

To Run an Item Theoretical Usage Report, navigate to Inventory>Reports>Usage>Item Theoretical Usage. Once selected, a Report Parameters screen like the below will display:

Begin Date: From the drop-down calendar, select a starting date range. 

End Date: From the drop-down calendar, select an ending date range.

Item: Use the drop-down search to select a specific Item.

Run Report: Once you have selected your report parameters, click the Run Report button to list the report.

Item Theoretical Usage Report:

Selecting to Run the Report in detail will display a report similar to below.  The below report was run for 2 Oz Pork Link Inventory Item:

The above report is showing the Sales Item recipe and the Parent recipe (sub-recipe) that utilize the Item. The next columns show the ingredient usage (Item portion size in the recipe), the quantity of the Sales Item that was sold, the theoretical usage in Recipe Units, and the theoretical usage in Pack Size. The formula for the theoretical usage from sales calculation is: Theoretical Usage = # of Sales Items sold X quantity of Item used in recipes for those Sales Items.
