Override Calculated On-Hand - FAQs

Overview:

Any time a Suggested Quantity Type (SQT) is selected for an order, transfer, prep, or production worksheet or entry feature, a calculated on-hand quantity column will be added to the worksheet or entry grid display and it is used as the basis for the suggested quantity calculation. The calculated on-hand quantity can be changed (overridden) and this will cause the suggested quantity to recalculate.

Override Calculated On-Hand:

In the example above for prep entry, the Calculated On-Hand and Override columns are highlighted. Blanched Broccolini has a calculated on-hand quantity of 1.01 gallons and the suggested quantity to prepare is 2 Gallons. If we know that there are actually 2 gallons on hand, then we can enter a 2 in the Override column.

In the example above, we have entered 2 gallons as the override on-hand quantity for Blanched Brocollini and we can see that the Suggested Quantity to prepare has now changed to 1 gallon. Please note that any override made on an item on the entry grid will not change the calculated on-hand for that item beyond this grid.
