Prep Stations
Overview:
The Prep Stations setup feature enables you to define stations where you do food or other types of preparation so a station can be identified when you enter preparation instructions for a recipe item. The use of Prep Stations is optional.
Things to know!
- This feature will only be accessible and visible to users who are given access to it.
- This feature will be available if you have enabled prep instructions in your Company Settings.
- The use of prep stations is not required in COGS-Well.
- Prep stations can be included when Prep Instructions are entered for a Recipe Item.

Add or Edit Prep Stations:
To add, review, edit, or delete Prep Stations, use the Sidebar to navigate to the Manage Prep menu option and then select the feature. Upon selection, a "Find Grid" similar to the one below will display a listing of all of your Prep Stations:
Find Grid Definitions:
+ Add, Export, and Search Options:
- The blue "+ Add" button is used to add a new transaction.
- The "XLSX" button will export the information on the grid to a spreadsheet.
- The search option can find any part of a word or date on the grid. When you start typing your search criteria, the search will be initiated.
Edit/Delete: Click the Edit or Delete button to the right on the row of the Item that you wish to edit or Delete.
Prep Station Tab:
If you select to add, edit, or view a Recipe Prep Station, then a screen like below will display:
Recipe Prep Station Name: Enter a Name for the Station (required field).
Active: This setting defaults to Active. If you want to make a Station inactive, then click the box to remove the checkmark. You can make an inactive Station active again.
Available to All Sites: If you check this box then all of your Sites will have access to this Prep Station. If you do not check this box then a tab will appear for Sites and you can assign only the Site or Sites that use it.
Items Tab:
If you select the Items tab, a screen like below will display:
Available and Selected: Listed under the Available column are all the recipes with Prep Instructions enabled that are available to be assigned to this Station, but have not been assigned. Listed under the Selected column are all the recipes with Prep Instructions enabled that have been assigned to this Station To move an Item from one selection to another, check the box by the Item or Items you want to move and then hit the arrow direction < or > that you want to move them to. You can also double-click on an item to move it to the other selection.
Save, Delete, and Exit:
At the bottom of the screen are the Save, Delete, and Exit buttons.
Save - Saves the entry or entries and exits.
Delete - Deletes the Item. You will be asked, "Are you sure"?
Exit - Exits without saving any new entries or edits.
