On-Demand Tasks

Overview:

On-Demand Tasks should be used when you plan to only launch an Integration to another system on occasion (versus tasks that are scheduled to automatically launch via the Controller Actions feature). Tasks can be interface routines for importing data to or from other systems such as your accounting, vendor invoice, or POS systems.  There is also a task for recalculating theoretical usage. This is a feature that is normally managed for you by COGS-Well support so unless you are very familiar with this feature it is going to be best to contact support@cogs-well.com.

Things to Know:

  • Only users that have been given access to this feature will be able to see or use this function.
  • Use On-Demand Tasks for launching Tasks that are not scheduled to occur automatically via the Controller Actions function. Controller Actions are accessed via Tools>Collection>Controller Actions.
  • On-Demand Tasks utilize Integrations that are set up by the COGS-Well support team. If you do not see an Integration that you require, please contact COGS-Well support.
  • Unless you are very familiar with Tasks and their impact on your system, contact COGS-Well support for assistance rather than launch a Task when you are uncertain.

On-Demand Tasks:

To schedule an On-Demand Task, navigate to Tools>Collection>On-Demand Tasks.  You will see a display similar to below:

In this feature, you can select a Task from the Task Type drop-down menu and launch it for a date you select. You can also select the Site or Sites that you want the Task to apply to.

Task Type: The drop-down will provide a list of other system integrations that the COGS-Well support team has set up. It also includes a function for recalculating theoretical usage. Click the drop-down menu to see available Tasks and select the desired Task.  If you need a new Task then please contact COGS-Well support.
