Release 24.11.01 went live on 11/5/2024. The major upgrade in this release is to our "Sidebar" navigation menu (formally called the Process Menu). The Sidebar further simplifies navigation between COGS-Well's features for setup, transaction entry, listings, and reports. Below is a bullet list of the upgrades in this release and additional information is provided below the bullets:

  • An updated "Sidebar" for easier navigation between COGS-Well's features.
  • A new option to display the items assigned to a storage location alphabetically.
  • A new Sales Item field that shows the last date the item was sold.
  • A new Theoretical Cost of Waste Report.
  • A new option for ordering to show last week's order history.

Sidebar:

There are a lot of features in COGS-Well for setup, maintenance, data entry, listings, and reports. The Sidebar Menu "Sidebar" simplifies navigation between these features and is more intuitive for many Users. It also includes a "feature search" and an option to "pin" the menu which can be helpful. Please click this link for more information on our Sidebar. An example is below:

Alphabetic Display for Items in a Storage Location:

There is now an option in the Assign Items to Storage Locations feature to display the items that have been assigned in alphabetic order. If you have quite a few items in a storage location, and they are in storage location order, then this is a way to view the assigned items in alphabetic order.

Last Sold Date for a Sales Item:

The Recipe Item Find Grid now has a column that can be selected via the Column Chooser for the "Last Sold Date". The Recipe Item Setup display now has an added field for the last sold date. This field has also been added to the Mass Edit Recipe Items Column Chooser. This field can help identify items that may be ready to be made inactive:

Theoretical Cost of Waste Report:

This report is helpful if you are entering waste counts for Sales Items and you want to see waste cost as a percentage of sales for Sales Items or Sales Categories. Please click this link for more information on the Theoretical Cost of Waste Report. An example of the report is shown below:

Last Week's Order History:

If you are using the ordering feature, the order quantity and the on-hand quantity for each item, for the same day of the week one week prior, can be included in the last two columns on the Order Worksheet and the Enter Orders feature. Please click this link to Last Week's Order History - FAQs for information on how to set this up. Examples of the order worksheet and entry feature are shown below:
