Release Notes - Version 23.10.03
Report Books:
Release 23.10.03 includes a set of features that enable you to configure and deliver Report Books to Users. Report Books eliminate the requirement for a User to log into COGS-Well or manually run a report or set of reports. Multiple Report Books can be configured (i.e. end of week and end of period).
Report Books can be configured to include one or more reports and for one or multiple Sites. The report parameters for each report included in a Report Book can be preconfigured.
Report Books can be scheduled to be delivered via email automatically to a User Group.
Things to Know:
- Report Books require a Report Template for each report that is going to be included in the Report Book. Here is a link to an article on setting up Report Templates:
- Site Groups can be added to a Report Template. If you want to use a Site Group, it should be configured first. Here is a link to an article on setting up Site Groups.
- Report Books need to be configured after the Report Template(s) are configured. Here is a link to an article on Report Book configuration.
- Report Books require a User Group for automated delivery via email. Here is a link to an article for setting up User Groups.
- Report Books can be scheduled to be automatically delivered to a User Group via Controller Actions. Here is a link to an article about setting up a Controller Action for a Report Book.
- There are several different file formats that can be utilized for the delivery of a Report Book. The options are PDF, CSV, Excel, Web Archive, or Word.

Steps for Setting Up Report Books:
The initial steps for setting up a Report Book are accessed via the Tools main menu. Navigate to Tools>Report Books.
- Report Templates: The first step for setting up a Report Book is to configure one or more Report Templates. Report Templates will define the Report Parameters for a selected report. Report Parameters are the fields you normally use to select things like the Site, the date or date range, the Group, Detail or Summary, etc. when you select to run a report. - Report Book Configuration: The second step for setting up a Report Book is to configure a Report Book. A Report Book will define what Report Templates are included in the Report Book. Here is a link to an article on Report Book configuration.
- User Groups: The use of User Groups is required if you intend to schedule delivery of Report Books to users via Controller Actions. You can select from the Users assigned to your Company. Here is a link to an article for setting up User Groups.
- Controller Actions: Report Books can be automatically delivered, using a predefined schedule, to a User Group via Controller Actions. Here is a link to an article about setting up a Controller Action for a Report Book.
